New and fresh from the south, the HM Big Band from the frog village of Halberstung jumps onto the stage at the festival by the lake. In front of the audience's eyes and ears, 20 engineers, a few teachers, students, tinkerers and retirees transform themselves in no time at all into a swinging, grooving unit, as if there were nothing else in the world for the musicians. The singer Maria Hene is captivating, embodying nothing but pure voice, whether in velvet, rock or schmaltz. Christoph Rehorst, her male counterpart, proves to be highly charming on the microphone. The HM Big Band is professionally conducted by Leon Winkler.
