On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, DAS FEST is coming to the Alter Schlachthof with a diverse program - the place where the DAS FEST team has been planning and developing Karlsruhe's summer highlight for over a decade.
Our cultural partners Alte Hackerei, Fettschmelze, Substage in cooperation with Minestrone, Tollhaus, Alinas Café and Tostino have put together a varied musical and culinary program and are looking forward to celebrating the final warm-up for the big DAS FEST weekend together with you!

Chip Hanna from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who became famous as the drummer of the US Bombs, is now a successful singer-songwriter and will delight the crowds with his alternative country music at "DAS FEST at Schlachthof" on the beer garden stage of the Alte Hackerei.
Of course, there is delicious food from the food truck in the beautiful and shady beer garden and equally delicious drinks at the bar.

Jazzclub Karlsruhe
jazz4kids - IMPROVIDINGS

The band led by exalted drummer Mr. Hering promises an exciting musical journey for the ears (and eyes) of people aged five and over. IMPROVIDINGS explores the very heart of jazz, improvisation. Where do all the notes come from? It's not in the sheet music! And yet somehow it all fits together when the musicians spontaneously react to each other at the best moments, creating something completely new and inviting the audience to join in.
MXDMCN – The New Organ Trio

The Hammond smacks, the drums shake and the strings steam when keyboardist Martin Meixner, drummer Daniel Mudrack and guitarist Christoph Neuhaus take off into their own virtuoso world of jazz and soul. Three outstanding musicians from southern Germany have a special bond and share a common mission: Spread the music & feel the vibe! The groove is kept simmering as the central material, while the trio skillfully maneuvers between impetuous and gentle. A real "Band of Brothers" in the historic Hammond trio format that hits the heart with style and emotion.

What goes better with spritz and spuntini (Italian for snacks) than relaxed electro beats and Italo disco? The panoramic view on the Minestrone terrace! Dance into the evening with us and DJs Katze & Vogel in a summery, glittering atmosphere.
Even better as a duo: Yours truly DJane Katze aka Lola is one of the best DJanes in town, she knows which (electro) bangers to get you moving and when it's time for a real techno classic. The Italo Disco bird is no longer a stranger to these premises, as he is responsible for our legendary "Italo Disco" evenings. Today, he also has the artistic freedom to play off the beaten track.

Tollhaus
On the open space between the TOLLHAUS cultural centre and Perfekt Futur, there will be a screen printing family event with funny little pigs from 18:00 to 20:00. T-shirts, jute bags, cushions and the like can be brought along.
After the end of the ZELTIVAL concert, which is subject to a charge, everyone can access the ZELTIVAL garden free of charge from around 10.30 pm.

Fancy a dolce vita?
Lorenzo de Cunzo (vocals) and Tarek El Barbari (piano) bring the sound of Naples to the Alter Schlachthof - from the swinging "Tu vuo fa l'Americano" to operatic hits such as "Torna a Surriento". Music for the heart and soul that takes its listeners on a journey to the south.
To complete the Mediterranean feeling, there will be the finest coffee and fresh drinks from TOSTINO.
