Even though Albertine Sarges only released her debut album "The Sticky Fingers" under her own name in 2021, the Kreuzberg native, born in 1987, already has a remarkable musical career behind her. She is certainly one of the most exciting songwriters on the German music scene, whose sound is inspired by the free, innovative and New Wave-influenced pop of the 80s à la Talking Heads or The B-52s, but whose themes such as queer-feminist self-empowerment, mental health and friendship are rooted in current social discourse. On her current EP "Family Of Things", she plumbs new depths of unvarnished and often self-confidently exposed emotions, which she presents with a refreshing comedic streak. On stage, Albertine and her band take the audience on a journey full of twists and turns, showcasing an insatiable mix of avant-garde pop, quirky folk, magical flute and impeccably grooving bass. Albertine has unleashed her captivating energy at numerous gigs, headlined her own tours in the UK and Germany and opened for artists such as Jane Weaver, Current Joys, Cassandra Jenkins, Metronomy and Stella Donnelly. There will be new music from her in 2024.
