Formed in 2020 in the Belgian marshlands, the band is considered one of the fastest-rising acts on the heavy metal/punk rock scene. Their 2024 debut album, “Fear Is a Funny Thing, Now Smile Like a Big Boy,” was a critical success and was praised for pushing the boundaries of standard-tuned guitars while remaining accessible. It earned the band appearances at festivals like Hellfest, 2000Trees, and Pukkelpop and secured them support slots for peers like Show Me The Body, The Melvins, Sparta, and Brutus. On their current second album, “Respect The Hustle, I Won’t Be Your Dog Forever,” the band sounds more ambitious than ever. The sound is a sophisticated melting pot that seems to draw in equal parts from the music of David Bowie and Slayer. The aggression remains, but grand choruses and old-school songwriting are added. Metal Hammer UK praised it as “pure rage… there’s a hint of early IDLES in the air, but with added force and fury that are a pure joy.” Added to this are pianos and brass instruments, which bring a dark, somber side to the dense action and lay the groundwork for anthemic dystopias.
