DAS FEST MOVES US

Sometimes the most powerful movements arise from an unexpected moment.

The storm destroyed one of the two landmarks on Mount Klotz. For many people, this tree was far more than just part of the landscape. It was a meeting place, a point of reference, and a symbol of countless shared FEST moments.

What moved us most in the days that followed was the overwhelming wave of solidarity. People wanted to help. Our partners immediately offered their support. Many asked how they themselves could contribute.

This sense of solidarity is no coincidence.

After all, DAS FEST has always stood for much more than just music and four days of summer festivities. For over four decades, DAS FEST has been bringing people together—regardless of age, background, or life circumstances. Community, openness, and mutual support have always been at the heart of what DAS FEST is all about.

This mindset has defined DAS FEST for decades—in Karlsruhe and far beyond. Whether through local initiatives or international solidarity campaigns (“Music saves UA”), wherever community, diversity, and social responsibility are needed, DAS FEST has always seen itself as an active part of the solution.

The loss of the tree has now shown us just how strong this community is. That is why we would like to give this mindset a name:

Going forward, we will be bringing all our social initiatives together under this umbrella. Together with our visitors, sponsors, and partners, we want to take responsibility—for Karlsruhe and for the people who live here.

A portion of the donations will go toward planting a new tree on Mount Klotz. At the same time, together with our partner, the Karlsruhe City Youth Committee, we support social projects—especially those for children and young people.

The new tree thus becomes a visible symbol of a community that has always been there.

Because DAS FEST doesn’t end when the last encore is played.

The values that DAS FEST stands for are with our city all year round.
