Originally founded in 2025 in Byron Bay, Australia, by frontman Tim Degen, the alternative rock band Karlmer is now based in the Germersheim area of Germany. Tim reached out to his old friend Jasmin Azarfar to recruit her as the bassist for the project. Around the same time, he asked another longtime friend, Roman Fischer, to join as the drummer. Roman then invited Tim to his 30th birthday party, where Tim met Lukas Büttner, who is now the band’s lead guitarist. Just four weeks later, they played their first gig at a friend’s skate shop. From there, they made it straight to the finals of the New Bands Festival in Karlsruhe and played at the student festival at HaDiKo, where they drew a huge crowd. In December 2025, they wowed audiences at the Tollhaus living room concerts and played a self-organized, sold-out concert in an old church in Speyer. They took second place in the jury’s selection at the “New Bands Festival” and were also the audience favorites. It’s amazing what can be achieved in such a short time.
