DAS FEST – 1 vs. 1 Breaking Battle - powered by World Games 2029

At DAS FEST 2026, we’re introducing the “DAS FEST – Breaking Battle” for the first time. In a 1-on-1 format, 16 invited breakers from the Karlsruhe region will compete against each other in a single-elimination tournament. On Sunday, July 26, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., B-girls and B-boys will transform the FEST Floor at the DJ stage (between the Europahalle and Europabad) into an arena. They're competing for the title of champion and prize money totaling €1,750. On the mic, host Godfather—who's traveling all the way from Zurich—will guide the audience through the event.

In this battle, there are no set choreographies. Each breaker uses dance as an artistic expression of their own personality. It’s all about understanding the basics, originality, and the visual interpretation of the music. Break DJ Red Rock provides the musical foundation: He controls the dynamics, energy, and fairness of the battle. The dancers never know which song the DJ will play next. As soon as the track starts, they have to grasp the rhythm, tempo, and vibe within fractions of a second and put them into action. The entire battle is judged by a top-notch panel of three experienced figures from the scene: B-Girl Sandie, Terence-Ill, and Sung-Goku.

In addition to the Breaking Battle, we have a special event before the finals: “Show Your Moves” gives guests at the venue the chance to hit the dance floor and show off their own dance moves. The best participants from the audience will receive surprise prizes.
