Beatsteaks

The Berlin-based Beatsteaks are an institution in German-language rock/punk and have been one of the country's most influential live bands for years. They have received numerous awards for this: in addition to the MTV Europe Music Award for Best German Act, they have received several 1LIVE crowns, including repeatedly for Best Live Act and, in 2024, the special prize for their social commitment. They were also honoured as ‘Favourite Band’ at the 2022 Pop Culture Awards. These awards underscore both their exceptional live quality and their cultural relevance far beyond the punk rock scene – and of course they have already played at DAS FEST in Karlsruhe. That was in 2007. Six of their songs from back then at Mount Klotz can still be heard today on their 2008 live album ‘Kanonen Auf Spatzen’. But Beatsteaks are more than just loud rock: they are politically and socially engaged — for example, with campaigns for education, organ donation and against racism, supporting initiatives such as Viva con Agua and Greenpeace. With their unmistakable sound, uncompromising attitude and rousing live presence, Beatsteaks are a real FEST highlight in 2026 — loud, passionate and full of energy.
