Badische Staatskapelle

HauptbühneSunday, 26.07.10:00

Mount Klassik

Every two years, the Badische Staatskapelle performs at the Günter-Klotz-Anlage—in a relaxed setting with a varied classical program, entertainingly hosted by General Music Director Georg Fritzsch. Founded in 1662 as the court orchestra of the Baden princely court, which was then still based in Durlach, the Badische Staatskapelle is one of Germany’s most traditional orchestras, currently bringing together over 90 musicians from around 20 nations. The book *Die Badische Staatskapelle – Eine Chronik* provides a broad overview of the orchestra’s history, describing major highlights while not shying away from darker periods. In 2025, the Badische Staatskapelle released its fourth CD production in the Edition Badische Staatskapelle series: symphonic works by Richard Strauss. In 2026, the Badische Staatskapelle will present a program titled “Dances Across Europe,” promising a lively start to FEST Sunday. The list of composers is illustrious and spans three centuries, ranging from the Italian Gioachino Rossini to the Czech Antonín Dvořák and the German Johannes Brahms to the Spaniard Manuel de Falla.
