Sudaka

Hailing from Mannheim and Karlsruhe, the band blends traditional cumbia rhythms with influences from reggae, merengue, ska, salsa and South American folk music. Their sound is danceable, versatile and full of energy – at times driving and powerful, at others soft and warm. Sudaka’s songs tell stories of migration, new beginnings, love and solidarity. The political and personal lyrics of this new cumbia band are moving without ever losing their groove. Sudaka get the audience moving and create moments full of joy and a real sense of community.
