Daënk

It all began in 2002 with cover versions of songs by Elvis and Johnny Cash, as well as ballads by Metallica. For years, Daniel Klinger stood behind the microphone as the lead singer of several cover bands. After all, he has an impressive voice that opens up a world of possibilities. Alongside this, the Karlsruhe-based musician also wrote his own German-language songs, in which he incorporated many autobiographical elements and observations of everyday life. In 2025, he realised his dream and released his debut album ‘Alles hat einen Sinn’ under the stage name Däenk. What Däenk plays with his band is not German pop, nor is it singer-songwriter music; rather, it is rock influenced by 90s Seattle grunge – by Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden – which the musician likes to call “German pop-grunge”.
