Max Herre & Joy Denalane

They are two of the most important and successful German musicians of the past 25 years. Joy is the great soul singer who has set new standards with her overwhelming voice on her groundbreaking, autofictional albums "Mamani", the Motown Records release *Let Yourself Be Loved*, and most recently *Willpower*. Max, on the other hand, has established a completely new narrative style and musicality in German hip-hop and rap with his band Freundeskreis and their albums “Quadratur des Kreises” and “Esperanto,” as well as with his solo albums CHallo Welt” and “ATHEN.” His 2013 MTV Unplugged performance is still considered groundbreaking for live performances today. Together, Max & Joy have been awarded numerous gold and platinum albums, won prizes, and toured extensively. Their joint album "Alles Liebe" is far more than just an album about the story of Max and Joy. Rather, it tells of a universal concept of love, free from bourgeois conventions, of love in all its shades. In seven short written contributions from artist friends, family, and companions such as Anna Dushime and Ebow, the diverse colors and manifestations of love are described—sometimes anecdotally, sometimes analytically, but always poignantly. Musically, the album brings together everything we love about Joy Denalane and Max Herre: the defining soul influences, the wistfulness, the gentle allure, the skyward-reaching melodies, the keen observation, the sensitivity, the big pop sound, and the lived fusion of hip-hop and R&B.
