DAS FEST 2019 to open with hyped Swiss musician Faber

Riotous fun at the Friday Night Club with Querbeat / California rockers Rival Sons to fire up the crowd at Mount Klotz on Sunday

Winter has been banished, and although you may have given up a thing or two for Lent, great music shouldn’t be one of them. The DAS FEST family has added three more gems to its line-up: Faber, Rival Sons, and Querbeat will be heading to Mount Klotz for southern Germany’s biggest family festival DAS FEST in Karlsruhe (19 to 21 July). They will be performing on the ticketed main stage along with previously announced acts Gentleman and Kettcar (on Friday) as well as Three Fall & Melane and the Badische Staatskapelle at the Classical Morning (on Sunday). Main stage tickets are still available for Sunday from online ticket provider Eventim, as is a small contingency for Friday. The ticketed hill area is sold out for DAS FEST Saturday. However, more than 70% of the DAS FEST programme is free on all days and can be experienced without a ticket.

DAS FEST Karlsruhe obtains an injunction against Viagogo

Further success in the battle against the black market ticket trade

DAS FEST has chalked up a notable result in the fight against the black-market ticket trade. In 2018, DAS FEST Project Manager Sven Varsek and solicitor Dr Christian Karl, from the Karlsruhe-based legal firm Schütz Rechtsanwälte, presented a successful new strategy to combat the black market ticket trade during the annual members meeting of the European festival association YOUROPE.

DAS FEST Karlsruhe is the only German festival to be awarded the 2018 Greener Festival Award

The European Network for Event Security met in Groningen, Netherlands

Every year, representatives of the international music industry meet in Groningen, Netherlands, for the largest network meeting in Europe, the Eurosonic Noorderslag. The event includes the introduction of top musical newcomers, a trade show, networking, and an award ceremony. Following a podium discussion on sustainability last Friday, the international award winners were honoured by the Greener Festival Jury during a small celebration. DAS FEST Karlsruhe was the only German festival to win the 2018 European Greener Festival Award. “This is a great acknowledgement for the entire organisation team, especially for the Green & Clean spokesman, Sebastian Wahl, who cultivates, implements and optimises a sophisticated sustainability concept year after year”, summed up Project Manager, Sven Varsek in his acceptance speech. “A big thank you also goes out to all the institutions and action groups who tirelessly promote sustainable action and provide the appropriate tips – this is the right path to a good future and the preservation of our blue planet.”

DAS FEST Karlsruhe celebrates its 35th edition with Gentleman and Kettcar

A classical morning with the Badische Staatskapelle as part of the Beethoven Pastoral Project / Tickets are available now at about 40 ticket offices in the region

The tension was palpable when the DAS FEST creators announced the first acts in front of about 600 invited guests, just in time to launch early ticket sales. El Flecha Negra made for a pre-festive atmosphere at the kick-off event by getting the crowd fired up at Sparkasse Karlsruhe’s customer centre.
To celebrate its 35th edition, taking place from July 19 to 21, 2019, DAS FEST has invited two major acts to the stage of the Günther-Klotz-Anlage in Karlsruhe: Gentleman and Kettcar will play on the main stage on Friday. Three Fall & Melane will bring some fresh young jazz to DAS FEST on Sunday, and in honour of Ludwig van Beethoven, who will be celebrating his 250th birthday in 2020, the Badische Staatskapelle will play his Symphony No. 6, among other pieces, as part of the BEETHOVEN PASTORAL PROJECT on the classical morning.

Ticket presales for DAS FEST Karlsruhe 2019 start on 27th of November

Tickets can be purchased at 40 locations around the region and online / DAS FEST ticket office at the municipal services of EISZEIT

There is still some time to go before the 35th edition of DAS FEST Karlsruhe kicks off. Culture will fill the Günther-Klotz space in Karlsruhe from the 19th to the 21th of July 2019. The bands to play on the main stage at the foot of Mount Klotz are still a mystery. But the fog is clearing – at least a little. Ticket sales for DAS FEST start on the 27th of November with the opening of the Karlsruhe Christmas Market and with naming the first acts. Until then, suspense!
Very important: In the past, the official DAS FEST point of sales were always located at one of the top event venues in the Christmas city of Karlsruhe. After the Waldweihnacht and the Lichtweihnacht, tickets will now be available at the municipal services of EISZEIT on the Schlossplatz square in Karlsruhe. Only while tickets last. As usual, many DAS FEST partners be selling the sought-after entries at a price of 10 euros each, and so making sure that most of the tickets stay in the Karlsruhe region. A modest percentage of tickets are also sold online. For more information, please visit our website at www.dasfest.de. Here you will find a list of all presale points and the number of tickets that can be purchased per person.
